Program Associate
Christen has been with NCDI since July 2007. As a Program
Associate, she works on various capacity-building and
organizational effectiveness projects with community-based
organizations. During and immediately after law school,
she worked with Asian Immigrant Women Advocates where
she employed popular education philosophies to teach English
and workers’ rights. As VP of Political Affairs
for the Korean American Coalition of San Francisco, Christen
coordinates projects to engage the Bay Area Korean American
community in legislative and political issues. She also
volunteers with Project Peace East Bay, which connects
the resources of local churches with the needs of local
social service providers. Christen recently participated
in the Applied Research Center’s Racial Justice
Leadership Institute. She has a J.D. from U.C. Berkeley
School of Law (Boalt Hall) and a B.A. with honors in History
from Yale University. She feels blessed to follow her
primary passion for collaborative social justice movements
in diverse, low-income communities.
