Webb-Petett, Chair-Elect
Former Coordinator, Mid South Delta Initiative
W.K. Kellogg Foundation
Freddye Petett recently retired from the W.K. Kellogg
Foundation in 2005. She held several positions during
her 14 years with the Foundation. Most recently, she was
coordinator of the Foundation's Mid South Delta Initiative,
providing leadership and program coordination in Louisiana,
Arkansas, and Mississippi.
Prior to that appointment, Ms. Petett was director of
the Kellogg International Leadership Program, working
with grantees in Southern Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean
and the United States. She joined the Foundation in 1990
as an associate director for the Leadership programming
area. She also provided leadership for strategic planning
and implementation of leadership grant making.
Before joining the Foundation, Ms. Petett was administrator
of Oregon's Adult and Family Services Department, managing
2,600 employees in 50 offices and with a one billion dollar
biennial budget. During her public service career she
has served in a number of other positions: Assistant to
the Mayor of Portland, OR: executive director, Urban League
of Portland; Director, Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle;
Board Chair, Housing Authority of Portland; and management
consultant to community-based organizations, state and
local governments.
Ms. Petett earned her bachelor's degree in business administration
from Portland State University, and has done doctoral
studies in Sociology at the Union Institute in Cincinnati,
Ohio.
