Rev. Elaine P. Mangrum Walters is a nationally known preacher,
author, speaker and teacher. She is much sought-after
in social, civic, and, religious circles for her keen
ability to integrate theological concepts with social
responsibility. Rev. Walters preaches and teaches a gospel
that has legs and feet, a gospel of liberation and redemption,
and a gospel of love and grace.
Rev. Walters is the Pastor of St. Stephens A.M.E. Church,
Hanover, Indiana. She is the Founder & Director of
New Me Ministries, Inc. and the former Director of Outreach
& Foreign Affairs for Eastern Star Baptist Church.
She is a Social Worker in the state of Indiana and a member
of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She
has more than 20 years experience as a social worker,
working with disadvantaged families and troubled children.
Rev. Walters is a native of California. She holds a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Social Services Administration and
a Master of Arts Degree in Urban Ministry.
Her distinguished career includes the keys of the cities
of Indianapolis, Kokomo, and Elkhart, Indiana. She was
the first female to deliver the city-wide Martin Luther
King, Jr. Day address in Anderson, Indiana. She has served
as keynote speaker for the federal and state governments
and other human service agencies in Washington, D.C.,
Chicago, Columbus, OH; Richmond, VA; Tulsa and Oklahoma
City, OK. She has ministered internationally serving on
the mission fields in Naples, Italy and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Rev. Walters has served as the keynote speaker and conference
convener for Victorious Christian Women (Flint, MI), Perfecting
Praise Conference (Los Angeles, CA) and women’s
groups across the United States, too numerous to name.
Rev. Walters is a member of the NAACP, President of Indiana
Minority AIDS Coalition, Consultant/Trainer for Indiana
Healthy Marriage and Family Coalition, Trainer for National
African American Tobacco Education Network, Consultant
on the Fugitive Safe Surrender Project, the Interdenominational
Ministerial Alliance, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Inc.
